22/00791 Purchase of a high-speed aluminium workboat with a total length of up to 8 metres.

Description

The contracting authority has procured a new workboat with a total length of up to eight (8) metres for the Institute of Marine Research's station in Bergen. The workboat will be used in various projects in the coastal zone. THE CONTRACT HAS BEEN SIGNED Lot 1: The invitation to tender applied to the purchase of a reliable and high-speed workboat, safe to operate both in sheltered waters as well as offshore and able to cover large areas in a day. It is also a requirement that the workboat is highly seaworthy and has sufficient engine power to return to land in case of unforeseen bad weather. As the workboat is in operation throughout the year, there is a need for a closed wheelhouse. We also see a need for a workboat that can withstand more impact on the hull, as the workboat will be used for field work at very shallow (and poorly mapped) locations. The workboat shall be used for field work related to: Effects of aquaculture (photos, video, light grab, fish pots, CTD, water samples, etc), low trophy IMTA, stock survey mussels and oysters, filming of coral reefs, monitoring, water samples scientific diving and generally for collecting samples etc. It is therefore important that the boat has a large working deck with a total length of up to eight (8) metres. We also request an option for an additional workboat.
