Description
Summary RBG Kew published its first Economic Valuation in April 2016. This work was subsequently refreshed in 2019. The published report can be found here https://www.kew.org/about-us/reports-and-policies Kew is looking to update its Economic Valuation in 2023 in preparation for the next government Comprehensive Spending Review based on data for the year ended 31 March 2023, and standard and appropriate methodology. About RBG Kew Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew ('RBG Kew') is a world-famous centre for botanical and mycological knowledge. The mission of RBG Kew is to understand and protect plants and fungi for the wellbeing of people and future of all life on Earth. Our aspiration is to end the extinction crisis and to help create a world where nature is protected, valued by all and managed sustainably. Further details can be found in Kew's Manifesto for Change. About us | Kew RBG Kew operates across two sites ('Sites'): Kew Gardens in west London, founded in 1759 and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and at Wakehurst in Sussex, which is the home of the Millennium Seed Bank. RBG Kew also has a permanent research station in Madagascar. RBG Kew uses the power of science and the rich diversity of its gardens and collections to provide knowledge, inspiration and understanding of why plants and fungi matter to everyone. RBG Kew was established under the National Heritage Act (1983) and is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB) with Exempt Charitable status. Its sponsor Department within government is the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), which also acts as its charitable regulator. Scope of the requirements Kew intends to update its Economic Valuation in 2023 in preparation for the next government Comprehensive Spending Review based on data for the year ended 31 March 2023. The valuation will be undertaken using a standard and appropriate methodology which will be clearly recognised by government and with all assumptions documented. We expect a final report which can be published on Kew's website and shared with stakeholders, both in government and internal colleagues. The report should be clear and accessible for non-economists in the house style of the consultants (rather than Kew). We require a supplier who has previously undertaken economic evaluations in natural science collections based organisations, The complete service provisions are detailed in the tender pack available via https://www.delta-esourcing.com/delta/viewNotice.html?noticeId=788491161 Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
