Supply and Installation of Ventilation and Odour Extraction System for Flavoured Butter Production Facility Requirement Gower View Foods Ltd seeks quotations for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a ventilation and odour extraction system to serve a new flavoured butter production area within a food manufacturing facility. The system shall provide filtered supply air to production areas and extract process air to minimise odour emissions and maintain a suitable production environment. Scope of Works The successful supplier shall provide a complete ventilation and extraction system, including all associated ductwork, fans, filtration equipment, controls, supports, testing, and commissioning. 1. Fresh Air Supply System The ventilation system shall provide filtered supply air to the production and filling areas. The scope shall include: • Supply and installation of a filtered air supply system. • Provision of HEPA-filtered air to the filling room and associated production areas. • Distribution of filtered air via roof-mounted or ceiling-mounted supply points above each production line. • A common air supply arrangement serving multiple production lines where appropriate. • Air distribution designed to achieve suitable airflow and air quality within the production environment. 2. Air Distribution The successful supplier shall provide: • Ceiling-mounted air supply distribution. • Diffusion grilles or equivalent air distribution devices to ensure even airflow throughout the production areas. • Ductwork and associated fittings required to distribute supply air to designated locations. 3. Odour Extraction System The extraction system shall remove air from the production areas and discharge it externally. The scope shall include: • Supply and installation of extraction fans and associated ductwork. • Collection of extract air from designated extraction points throughout the production area. • A central extraction arrangement incorporating a main duct header with branch connections to extraction locations. • Volume control dampers installed on branch ductwork to enable balancing and optimisation of airflow throughout the system. • System balancing and commissioning to ensure effective extraction performance. 4. External Discharge Arrangement To minimise the impact of odours on surrounding areas, the system shall include: • External ductwork extending to a high-level discharge location. • Elevated discharge arrangement designed to disperse extracted air away from ground level and reduce the potential for nuisance odours. • Weatherproof external ductwork and supports suitable for long-term outdoor installation. 5. Installation Works The successful supplier shall provide: • Delivery of all equipment and materials. • Installation of ventilation equipment, ductwork, grilles, dampers, supports, and associated components. • Any civil works required to facilitate installation of the ductwork system. • Testing, balancing, and commissioning of the completed installation. 6. Electrical Services Electrical power supplies to the ventilation equipment will be provided by others. The successful supplier shall provide details of electrical requirements, including: • Power consumption. • Supply characteristics. • Control interface requirements. • Isolator and protection requirements. 7. Testing and Commissioning The successful supplier shall: • Test and commission the complete ventilation and extraction system. • Balance airflow rates across all supply and extraction locations. • Verify operation of HEPA filtration systems. • Demonstrate satisfactory ventilation and odour extraction performance. • Provide commissioning records and operating instructions. Technical Requirements • Equipment shall be suitable for use within a food production environment. • Ductwork materials and finishes shall be appropriate for food manufacturing facilities. • Filtration systems shall be designed to maintain hygienic air quality within production and filling areas. • Installation shall comply with applicable health and safety, ventilation, and environmental regulations. Quotation Requirements Suppliers shall provide: • Detailed technical proposal and system design. • Proposed airflow rates and extraction capacities. • Details of filtration equipment and HEPA filtration performance. • Fan specifications and sound level information. • Installation programme and lead times. • Warranty details. • Total cost including supply, installation, testing, balancing, and commissioning.
