Description

‘GUI’ monitors development 20 000 children – infant cohort of approx.11 100 children (initially aged 9 months) and a child cohort of 8 570 children (initially aged 9 years). The GUI study is a child development study, with data collections spanning a number of the domains; these include health and physical development, cognitive and educational outcomes, emotional behaviour. Phase 1 of the study, which will conclude at the end of 2014, involved 3 data collection sweeps of the infant cohort (at age 9 months, 3 years and 5 years) and 2 data sweeps of the child cohort (at age 9 and 13 years). Phase 2 will involve the continuation of the study for a specified period beyond 2014. The successful Tenderer will be required to carry out further data collection sweeps of the infant and child cohorts, as well as outputs and activities to be specified. Tenderers will be required to submit complete proposals including fieldwork. The 2nd phase of the study is expected to take 5 years. The successful Tenderer will be required to carry out Phase 2 of the Growing Up in Ireland Study. This will include further waves of data collection of the infant and child cohorts, as well as outputs and activities to be specified. Tenderers will be required to submit complete proposals to include all elements of the Study including project planning, overall study management, instrumentation development, fieldwork, data management, data analysis including technical outputs and research reports, and communication, branding and dissemination activities.
