Published

Description

008599 - E-Bikes Hire - Market Engagement Newcastle City Council, in partnership with Gateshead Council, is undertaking a soft market testing exercise to explore the feasibility and viability of a new electric bike hire scheme. The scheme’s primary objective is to encourage a modal shift for commuters undertaking cross river travel over the Tyne Bridge. There is also a wider desire to provide more sustainable modes of transport to local people, encourage a modal shift, and enable multi-modality. For the long-term scheme, we aim to provide a quick, cost effective and user-friendly solution that meets the needs of residents and visits in both Newcastle and Gateshead, specifically considering the potential benefits of electric-assist cycles. Keywords: Scooter, E-Bikes, Motorized Cycles
