The qualification period for the AQP accreditation was for the remainder of the initial 3 year period from the 1.2.2018. The CCG may open up additional qualification rounds during the accreditation period. Should there be any geographical areas within the CCG area where further choice of provider is required; the CCG reserves the right to limit the next accreditation round to specific geographical areas only. All potential providers who wished to express an interest in the service were required to complete an accreditation questionnaire. Wolverhampton CCG assessed the responses to the accreditation questionnaire to determine whether a provider is sufficiently qualified to provide the service specified in the Service Specification contained within the Accreditation documentation. All providers who met the required minimum quality criteria, who accepted the NHS Standard Contract Terms and who accepted the Specification and the Tariff for the service set by the Wolverhampton CCG were offered a contract. Applications were accepted from all organisation types including sole provider, consortia, partnership, lead provider etc. In securing services from Providers, the CCGs needs assurance of competence, quality and safety standards, just as it would for services secured under a formal tender process. Any provider would be eligible to join a list of qualified providers subject to demonstrating competency against the Authority's specified criteria. The list was open to new entrants to the market, subject to assessment. The successful provider(s) are required to sign the standard NHS Contract, accepting all terms and conditions.
