Flere offentlig eide avfallsselskap i Nord-Norge går til felles innkjøp av avfallsposer som skal benyttes til deres innsamling av husholdningsavfall. Posene er gjennomsiktige med trykk i ulike farger og mønster, og skal deles ut til alle innbyggere som skal benytte disse til å kaste mat-, papir, plast og restavfall. De innsamlede posene skal deretter sorteres mekanisk i et optibaganlegg. Kravet til kvalitet på posene er derfor betydelig høyere enn normalt for avfallsposer, særlig med tanke på at disse skal benyttes i arktiske strøk.
