Dublin Airport’s Capital Investment Programme 2023+ (CIP), which was recently approved by Ireland’s Civil Aviation Regulator (CAR), is designed to deliver continued development of Dublin Airport over the medium term in line with government policy. A copy of Dublin Airport’s Capital Investment Programme is available from the website of the Irish Civil Aviation Regulator. Included within CIP 2023 is a project entitled, Surface Water Environmental Compliance (SWEC) (CIP.20.03.052). The Airfield Drainage Project has the core objective of providing source control for surface water contaminants, namely pavement surface de-icing chemicals and aircraft de-icing/anti-icing glycols. Due to the current infrastructure shortfall in surface water management capacity this project proposes significant upgrades to the infrastructure through a series of drainage system enhancement measures.
