The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization(DALO) wishes to renew the contracts concerning the Military Combat Boot System which is the soldier’s primary footwear during daily training, exercise and work, but also during extended combat operations. The system consists of five primary boots divided into 5 lots, where this contract notice concerns LOT 1, Combat Boot, Heavy and LOT 2, Combat Boot, Light. The remaining boots (LOT 3-5) will be tendered by separate contract notices. For daily duty, the soldier will use two primary boots; Combat Boot, Heavy (LOT 1) and Combat Boot, Light (LOT 2). Together, these two pair of boots must cover the soldiers’ daily requirements for footwear, meaning all year round, in all types of weather and terrain and for all types of operations from office or garrison duties to field exercise and national or international operations. Lot 1: Framework agreement regarding purchase of Combat Boot, Heavy DALO intends to award two parallel framework agreements to two suppliers regarding purchases of Combat Boot, Heavy (LOT 1). The intention is to give each soldier the possibility of being equipped with one of two brands of the Combat Boot, Heavy shaped over two different lasts in order to achieve the best possible conditions of optimizing a sufficient foot comfort. See furthermore Special Appendix 6 to the Framework Agreements for details regarding award of purchase orders under the Framework Agreements. The Combat Boot, Heavy is intended for duty in "regular" climates and is thus not intended for extreme climates and environments, as the soldier in case of being deployed to extreme climates and environments, will be equipped with special boots, e.g. a Desert Boot, Jungle Boot or Cold Weather Boot (Lot 3-5). These special boots will be tendered by separate contract notices. The Combat Boot, Heavy is intended to be used for operations in the following climate NATO zones (AECTP-23 – Climate conditions); Primary C0 and C1, and secondary A3 and M3. The Primary terrain is Mud, grass, asphalt, paving and winter terrain. Key words for the boot’s functionality are ankle support, heavy-duty, insulation, robust sole and water resistance. The Combat Boot, Heavy must be able to withstand the use that normally occur during a mission, including the build-up phase, which corresponds for a minimum of 18 months of use. The framework agreement is entered into by DALO. However, all divisions of the Danish Ministry of Defence, including all units of the Danish Defence subject to the command of the Chief of Defence is entitled to use the framework agreement.
