Description

The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (‘the School’) is seeking to implement a framework for the supply of design team consultant services to support its capital programme. The framework will be structured in 5 lots: — Lot 1: architect, — Lot 2: structural engineer, — Lot 3: M&E Consultant, — Lot 4: project manager, — Lot 5: quantity surveyor. There will be multiple suppliers for each lot. The framework agreement established by this tender will be open to use by the following institutions, including Where applicable any partnerships, subsidiaries, associates and students union: — the Royal Veterinary College (RC000532), — the School of Oriental and African Studies (RC000541), — University of London (RC000661), — Birkbeck, University of London (RC000048), — UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). No business whatsoever is guaranteed under any resulting framework agreement or contract, indeed there is no guarantee that any framework agreement or contract will be put in place. Provision of architect and design consultancy services. The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine have an estimated 70 000 000 GBP programme over 7 years. Typical capital project values range from 50 000 GBP — 10 000 000 GBP. These figures cannot in any circumstances be guaranteed and nor should they be taken as a minimum or maximum amount. It is envisaged that projects are likely to focus on the following within the contracting authority’s estate: — internal fitting out works and alterations to student spaces, — infrastructure replacement, — administration and office accommodation, — catering facilities, — laboratories — containment level 3, — decanting of staff/fixtures and fittings, — refurbishment of specialist teaching/research laboratories, — libraries. Contracting authorities with access to this framework agreement may require different project types such as accommodation. Please note that refurbishment work in the laboratories is of a highly technical nature, requiring extensive relevant skills and experience. In addition, the refurbishment works generally take place in occupied buildings with other research activities ongoing nearby, requiring careful planning and execution of the works so that no research is interrupted. Due to the criticality of these research activities an ability to react and resource promptly to address technical issues that threaten research continuity is required.
