Carry out the annual engineer’s inspection and risk assessment in line with current British and European standard. Play equipment and whole site assessment shall be carried out, including inspection of crossbars, bearings etc at height. All inspectors to provide ladders or means of inspecting areas not accessible from ground level all of which must comply with the Working at Height Regulations 2005. Play equipment and whole site assessment shall be carried out, including inspection of crossbars, bearings etc at height. All inspectors to provide ladders or means of inspecting areas not accessible from ground level all of which must comply with the Working at Height Regulations 2005. The following information is intended to give an indication only of the anticipated number of play areas to be inspected: Aberdeenshire Banff and Buchan - 46 play parks and 1 skate park in Fraserburgh Aberdeenshire Buchan - 53 play parks and 1 skate park in Peterhead Aberdeenshire Formartine - 61 play parks and 1 skate park in Tarves Aberdeenshire Garioch - 60 play parks and 3 skate parks in Inverurie, Kemnay and Insch Aberdeenshire Marr - 49 play parks and 3 skate parks in Alford, Banchory and Huntly Aberdeenshire Kincardine and Mearns - 57 play parks and 3 skate parks in Laurencekirk, Stonehaven and Portlethen. The inspections should be thorough non dismantling mechanical inspection and MUST include inspection of all moving parts including those unable to be inspected from ground level (bearings, shackles etc) and: Assess corrosion to metalwork Assess rot to timberwork Identify loose and worn fixings Identify missing components Assess condition of safety surfacing Assess each item for compliance with relevant British and European standards using any relevant statutory tests Test all relevant items with British Standard entrapment probes Carry out risk analysis on each piece of play equipment and the play area identifying risk, the likelihood of accident and the severity of injury which may occur, categorise each risk as low (12 months), medium (6 months) or high (3 months) Report to give estimated lifespan of each piece of equipment (1-3 years, 3-5 years etc) Supply copy of the checklist used to prepare the report Inspectors will provide details of their inspection program, in writing at least one calendar month prior to commencement.
