Description
The Council undertakes works of a limited nature to adapt domestic properties for disabled and elderly people living within the County Borough. These Works are undertaken as part of discharging the Council’s Care within the Community Policies and its programme of disabled adaptations. Lot 3: Major Works of Adaptation – External Major Works of Adaptation – External Carried out in public domestic properties. Works estimated to be between 1,001 and 17,999 GBP in value for external works and any associated internal works. Works may include but are not limited to ramps, steps, walls, and installation of doors. Associated works may also incorporate wet rooms, kitchen adaptations, increased accessibility in and around the dwelling, structural works, and extensions. Lot 1: Minor Works Minor Works Carried out in both public and private domestic properties. Works estimated to be 1,000 GBP or less in value. On some occasions, the work value may exceed 1000 GBP subject to approval from the Occupational Therapist (OT) service manager. Works may include but are not limited to grab rails, key safes, handrails, small ramps, steps etc. Some works are required to be completed same day/next day to facilitate hospital discharge. Lot 2: Major Works of Adaptation – Internal Major Works of Adaptation – Internal Carried out in public domestic properties. Works estimated to be between 1,001 GBP and over in value up to a maximum of 17,999 GBP for Showers and Associated Works internal. Works will primarily be for wet rooms/shower installations and associated non-structural Works. Works may also include kitchen adaptations. Lot 4: Major Works of Adaptation Works will primarily be for extensions and structural works including all associated works. The value of which will exceed 18,000 GBP. This lot will also be utilised to tender for works in any other Lot from 1 to 3 should there be issues with contractor availability and will be used at the Council’s discretion. Should work previously offered in Lots 1 to 3 be offered in Lot 4, contractors who have already had the opportunity to undertake the Work within their respective Lot will be excluded in this process. All work offered within this Lot will be via mini competition using Proactis Quick Quotes.
