Please note that this information notice is not a call for expressions of interest, no tender documents are available and we are not seeking tenders at this point. This is solely an information gathering exercise, where we wish to engage the market to assess available solutions and gather information for developing a specification. To deliver our essential safety service and to reduce our carbon footprint, it is now essential that Irish Lights remove the requirement for diesel generators and associated firefighting systems, and reduce energy consumption and improve environmental status. This process has already started and a lot of lighthouses now have either battery back-up for mains power or solar power for off-shore lighthouses. Irish Lights are seeking dialogue and technical proposals for off-grid renewable energy sources that can provide sufficient energy for 3 individual stations: Fastnet, Tuskar and Kish Lighthouses. Please see the attached document for further information.
