Rosslare Coastal Erosion and Flood Relief Scheme - Site investigations Burrow Road.

The investigations are required to inform the design of the tidal flood relief works along approximately 2km of Burrow Road, Rosslare. The investigation works will involve but not limited to the drilling of cable percussion and rotary core boreholes, inspection pits, associated temporary traffic management, in-situ testing, laboratory testing and production of a factual ground investigation. The site investigations will consist of: - Boreholes to a depth of 10m, at every 100m - Rock coring would be required if hit rock within first 10km; to a depth of 10m. Rock sampling required. - SPT's will be required in boreholes at every meter. - Heavy Dynamic Probing (DPH) at 25m centres. - Trial pits to a depth of 3m, at every 100m. - Sampling would be required at every m within the boreholes and trial holes to take standard classification testing, chemical testing, shear testing. It is intended that the site investigation would take place along or just off the seaward edge of the road, and/or in the existing embankment.
