Description

The Mental Health Support Service will work in collaboration with the Humberside Force Control Room (FCR) staff, Police Officers on duty and the Mental Health Providers across the Force area providing early and timely access to advice and support. The overall objective of the service is to provide service users who contact the Humberside FCR with access to a co-located service, which will offer advice, support, safeguarding advice and signposting for people who are identified as having mental health issues or are vulnerable as a result of a mental health situation. Lot 1: The Mental Health Support Service will work in collaboration with the Humberside Force Control Room (FCR) staff, Police Officers on duty and the Mental Health Providers across the Force area providing early and timely access to advice and support. The overall objective of the service is to provide service users who contact the Humberside FCR with access to a co-located service, which will offer advice, support, safeguarding advice and signposting for people who are identified as having mental health issues or are vulnerable as a result of a mental health situation. This service will: Ensure a more appropriate and dignified response is provided to the individual in crisis through the early intervention and support offered to callers during initial contact with the Police. Promote self-care and management and provide positive care and support. Ensure that a non-discriminatory service is delivered to all service users. Reduce the demand frequent callers due to mental health issues being addressed and reduce the Police time that is spent dealing with mental health cases. Support decision-making at incidents where mental health is a factor and during the decision-making process in the hub by ensuring all available information from partners and the Police is researched and understood. Enhance the provision of mental health services in Humberside and improve service user experience. Promote suicide prevention and actively support self-harm reduction.
