The NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (the Commissioners) are issuing this Contract Notice in connection with the competitive procurement of the Mental Health Support Teams North East Essex locality. The Commissioners are looking to establish contracts to cover the service, for a period 5 years and 3 months with the possibility of extending the term for a period 2 years. Lot 1: The NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (the Commissioners) are issuing this Contract Notice in connection with the competitive procurement of the Mental Health Support Teams North East Essex locality. The Commissioners are looking to establish contracts to cover the service, for a period 5 years and 3 months with the possibility of extending the term for a period 2 years.The anticipated aggregate contract value is £11,513,000.00 across the potential 7 years and 3 months.There are currently three MHSTs in schools in North East Essex with a further expansion of Wave 10 and an additional team in Jan 2024. The teams are located in North East Essex and the Commissioners are looking to build on the success of the existing schemes working within schools. The teams utilise local channels to ensure we are addressing inequalities, identify vulnerable children, children in need with consideration to ethnic diversity. Our broader ambition is to double the number of MSHTs in North East Essex; we have already identified a number of schools to take part in the next phase.The North East Essex MHSTs provide support across Colchester City and Tendring District area's covering Clacton and Tendring, Colchester, Harwich and Manningtree serving a population of approximately 62,773 CYP with an estimated prevalence of any MH disorder at 18.56%. 23 schools and colleges have already signed up to the programme with further schools interested.The North East Essex MHST programme targets those schools in the North East Essex in high deprivation areas. The MHSTs develop and implement the stepped care approach for mental health, so that the most effective, yet least resource intensive treatment or intervention is delivered to the CYP first, whilst helping those YP with more severe needs to access the right support, and to provide a link/onward referral to local specialist NHS CYP MH services where needed.
