The Irish public library service, comprising of 30 local authorities, currently operates a national library management system (LMS) which is managed and supported by the LGMA and associated services. The current national LMS has served the public well for many years, but the landscape of library services, technology and user experience has evolved significantly. To meet the future needs of a modern, dynamic and digitally inclusive Ireland, the LGMA is exploring the procurement of a next generation national library management system.
