Statsbygg requests, in connection with project: No.: 1011801 Name: Memorial at Hole — the Utøya pier. Tenders for contract: K701 Access road and memorial. The Directorate of Public Construction and Property has received an assignment from the Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation (KMD) to plan a national memorial after the terror attack on 22 July 2011 at Utøya pier in Hole municipality. The site Is located out by Holefjorden [Hole Fjord] and is Utøya’s only mainland connection in that it is the port of call for MS Thorbjørn. In addition to the actual memorial, the project consists of a new ramp for MS Thorbjørn, new parking places, new access road secured by high retaining walls and new operational buildings placed below the access road. The operational buildings shall contain toilet facilities, transformer and two rooms for the management of the Utøya island. The memorial and all its supporting functions must be completed by the 10 year’s anniversary 22 July 2021. The contract K701 is a turnkey contract with responsibilities for the execution of the entire project. The manufacture and assembly of the bronze pillars, which are a central part of the memorial, has been announced as contract K702 and transferred to the general contractor (K701).
