The Scottish Sentencing Council seeks to commission a review of relevant academic and jurisprudential literature on the topic of: - Sexual offences involving sexual assault The aim of the literature review on sexual offences involving sexual assault will be to summarise new academic, legal and statistical work relevant to the sentencing of sexual assault as well as any relevant research on the changing nature of sexual assault offending particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and cyber-enabled offending. The Council commissioned a similar literature review on sexual offences involving sexual assault in 2020 and published the report in February 2021. This new literature will be an update to that review, focusing on sentencing practice in the last five years and any changes in the nature of offending.
