Portsmouth City Council - the 'council' - is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced suppliers for the provision of the delivery of public realm improvement works at Commercial Road Portsmouth. The aim of the project is to create an attractive, safe and enjoyable place for people to meet, rest or spend time while they are in the city centre. The interventions will help to support longer dwell times in the city centre, discourage anti-social behaviour and improve people's confidence in and perceptions of this area. We are looking for contractors to implement the proposed works comprising of turning hard tree pits into planting, install new seating, play equipment and associated play surface at top end of Commercial Road in Portsmouth. The council is targeting to have awarded the contract by 9th October 2023 to allow for commencement on 8th January 2024 and completion no later than 15th March 2024 in accordance with external grant funding conditions The value of the contract requirement equates to between approximately ?250,000 to ?300,000 and this is based upon design activities and surveys to date. The council will undertake a procurement process to award the contract in line with the summary programme set out below; o Project published on Contracts Finder - Tuesday 6th June 2023 o SSQ and procurement documents published on Intend - Tuesday 6th June 2023 o Deadline for requests for clarification - Sunday 25th June 2023 at 23:59 o SSQ submission deadline - Wednesday 5th July 2023 at 12:00 o Notification of SSQ evaluation results - Monday 17th July 2023 o ITT and final procurement documents published on In-tend - Tuesday 8th August 2023 o Deadline for requests for clarification - Friday 1st September at 23:59 o Tender return deadline - Friday 15th September at 12:00 o Notification of preferred bidder - Monday 2nd October 2023 o Target contract execution - Monday 9th October 2023 o Works commencement - Monday 8th January 2024 Application is via completion and submission of a project specific Supplier Status Questionnaire (SSQ) and associated further documentation by Friday 30th June 2023 at 12:00 Following assessment of SSQ submissions a maximum of six suppliers that meet all minimum requirements will be invited to tender. In the event that multiple suppliers are tied at 6th place through the achievement of identical scores then only the top 5 will be taken through.
