Mechanical and Electrical Design Consultant Services

Description

The University Estates and Campus Services Department will have several construction and projects to advance over the next five years which will require the selective input of external consultants, including M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) Design Services. The scope, standards, and expectations for the provision of M&E design works and associated services are to support the delivery of capital, refurbishment, and maintenance projects within Estates for the University of Dundee. The appointed M&E design consultant shall provide comprehensive design and specification information suitable for issue as part of tender documents, and support the project throughout the RIBA work stages 0 – 7 (project initiation – to completion) while ensuring construction projects deliver value for money, comply with statutory and procurement requirements, and support the University’s strategic estates objectives. Lot 1: The University of Dundee is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Mechanical and Electrical Design Consultancy to provide services under a Term Contract for an initial period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 (1 + 1) years. The University operates across multiple buildings and manages a diverse estate including academic buildings, research laboratories, teaching facilities, libraries, student residences, heritage properties and commercial spaces. Some projects will be located within or interface with premises controlled by the National Health Service (NHS), requiring strict compliance with NHS standards, procedures, and approval processes. The appointed Consultant will support the University’s Estates and Campus Services Department in delivering capital projects, refurbishment works, conservation projects, compliance upgrades, space reconfiguration, and strategic estate development initiatives.
