Published

Description

Young Harrow Foundation is working with Harrow Council as they design and commission their Short Breaks funding opportunities across Harrow. We are very keen to ensure as many organisations as possible who have the expertise in working with disabled children and young people are aware of this funding and can get involved in delivery. If this is something you are interested in and would like to find out more then please join us at this market engagement event designed to inform you of the type of services Harrow Council want to fund and to have a say on how this service could be maximised to support more children and young people in different ways. The MARKET Engagement SESSION (via Zoom) will be in two parts and you are welcome to join for one or both taking place on TUESDAY 14 DECEMBER 2021 SESSION one: 11.00am-12.00pm Reflection session with the current Short Break providers. SESSION two: 12:10pm -1.00pm Your opportunity to feed into designing a service that supports more disabled children and young people through this service. To express interest please use this link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/harrow-short-breaks-for-disabled-children-and-young-people-tickets-221881793417 Lot 1: Short breaks provide opportunities for disabled children and young people to spend time away from their primary carers. These include day, evening, overnight or weekend activities and take place in the child’s own home, the home of an approved carer, a residential or community setting. Provision of short breaks are part of an integrated programme of support which is regularly reviewed and are additional services that are over and above the universal services expected and available to all families. Through this commissioning process we want to find ways to fund services that provide children and young people the opportunity to access a range of fun, exciting activities whilst developing their personal skills making friends. These services also need to ensure parents/carers have a meaningful break from their ongoing provision of care. For more information on short breaks eligibility and the other services provided by the Children and Young Adults with Disabilities Service please visit the Children and Young Adults with Disabilities page here For a fuller definition of a Short Break please use this link https://www.harrow.gov.uk/downloads/file/24249/definition-of-short-breaks.pdf *Please note: Current Short Break providers will also be contacted directly by Harrow Council regarding this event.
