Description

The replacement of the Mobile X-Ray unit(s) is required because the existing unit(s) has reached the end of operational life and can no longer safely or reliably meet service needs. Procuring a commercial solution via direct call-off from the NHS Framework is the most efficient and compliant option, particularly given the pre-existing standardisation with the chosen manufacturer. The objectives are to ensure patient safety, maintain uninterrupted radiology services, minimise downtime, and comply with clinical standards. This action supports the Programme for NHS Highland by improving diagnostic service delivery. No collaborative procurement is required, and a pre-market assessment is not necessary, as the framework is pre-approved for quality, value, and compliance. A successful demonstration trial of the system has been completed and recorded.
