EWIC Maintenance and Repair Contractor

Description

EirGrid has procured a contractor to provide Maintenance and Repair services for the East-West Interconnector with the capability to provide ongoing maintenance and repair services for the East-West Interconnector (EWIC) HVDC Converter Stations and Cable Storage Facility. The Portan and Shotton HVDC Converter Stations are located in Co. Meath (Ireland), and Deeside, (GB), with the HV Cable storage facility in Liverpool (GB). The Contractor shall have the capability to seamlessly deliver the services across these locations in line with the scope of requirements. The contractor shall be responsible for all maintenance repair and inspections of plant and equipment and systems defect repair work. Lot 1: The procurement was conducted in accordance with the negotiated procedure with prior call for competition, pursuant to Article 46 of S.I. No. 286/2016 - European Union (Award of Contracts by Utility Undertakings) Regulations 2016. EirGrid under this agreement is engaging Hitachi to conduct repair and maintenance services on the EWIC assets in Ireland and the UK.
