Acquisition of dental units and simulations units to the School of Oral Health Care

Purchase of Planmeca i5 & Planmeca iSim Under the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, at University of Copenhagen, The School of Oral Health Care educates Dental Hygienists and Dental Chairside Assistants. We need to purchase eight dental units and 16 dental simulation units. The dental unit is the equipment that dental professionals use for the treatment of patients. The patients is laying in the unit and the units also provides the machinery that drives the rotating instruments, that delivers power to ultrasonic device for depuration and light polymerization that the dental professionals need during treatment. The dental units also provide the professionals with air spray and water and saliva suction. Lot 1: We need to purchase eight dental units and 16 dental simulation units. The dental unit is the equipment that dental professionals use for the treatment of patients. The patients is laying in the unit and the units also provides the machinery that drives the rotating instruments, that delivers power to ultrasonic device for depuration and light polymerization that the dental professionals need during treatment. The dental units also provide the professionals with air spray and water and saliva suction. The units need to have a function for rinsing the tubes and suction hoses. The simulation units are intended to support the students with the equipment of a dental unit that can simulate dental treatment on a phantom – i.e. simulation of treatments without patients. Thus, the simulation units need to mimic the clinical set up as this is the learning environment where the students are introduces to learning the clinical procedures before they can progress to treating patients. It is, therefore, mandatory that there are great similarities between the simulation units and the clinical set up in which the students shall continue their learning on patients.
