Derry City and Strabane District Council wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced firm to supply and deliver artificial cone trees to be used as part of the festive lighting installation. Tender reference T ENV20-048. The tender will be assessed independently in two lots; bidders can choose to apply for one or both of the lots. Lot 1 relates to the purchase of artificial trees; Lot 2 relate to the lease of artificial trees. Council will appoint either lot 1 or 2 not both, subject to available budget. Please note: Council advise the prospective suppliers that this tender is based on the availability of budget and Council reserve the right to purchase all, some or none of the goods within this document. Lot 1: Supply and Delivery of up to 7 No Artificial Trees. Lot 2: 10-year Lease of 7 No Artificial Trees. Please refer to tender document for further detail. Lot 2: 10-year lease of 7 No artificial trees as detailed in 1.2) below. 1.1) The contractor/supplier will be responsible to send a company representative to assist with the installation of the first tree, at the supplier/companies’ expense. 1.2) The Supply and Delivery of up to 5 No 12 m (minimum size) to 15 m (maximum height), minimum diameter 4.9 m, (maximum diameter 6 m), cone shaped artificial christmas trees for the guildhall square, harbour square embankment (grass area in front of Harbour House), Waterloo Place, Brooke Park (Adjacent to the Gwyn’s Café Pavilion) and Ebrington Square. These trees must be delivered to: for the attention of M and E Manager Derry City and Strabane District Council Environment and Regeneration Directorate 3 Beraghmore Road Skeoge Depot Derry BT48 8SE. The supply and delivery of remaining up to 2 No 12 m (minimum size) to 15 m (maximum height), minimum diameter 4.9 m, (maximum diameter 6 m), cone shaped artificial christmas trees for Abercorn Square Strabane and The Diamond Castlederg. These trees must be delivered to: for the attention of M and E Manager Derry City and Strabane District Council Storage Area 47 Derry Road Strabane BT82 8DY. Further detail on tree location is contained within Appendix 1.3) The trees must come with all materials required for the installation together with full build/dismantling, securing, maintenance and storage instructions. 1.4) Provide Council with scaled mock-up pictures/visualisation of proposed tree in each of the locations. 1.5) All certification and compliance information (Electrical, BS/CE conformity) will be supplied to the MandE Manager, Councils nominated representative prior to the dispatch and delivery of the trees. 2) Specification 2.1) The location of the feature trees is as follows: Guildhall Square, Harbour Square Embankment (grass area in front of Harbour House), Waterloo Place, Brooke Park (Adjacent to the Gwyn’s Café Pavilion), Ebrington Square, Abercorn Square Strabane and The Diamond Castlederg. (See appendices for pictures and maps showing locations). 2.2) The trees must comply with all current electrical, fire, BS and CE regulations applicable to Northern Ireland capable of withstanding winds of up to 100 miles per hour. 2.3) The trees must be constructed so that they do not rely on bay lines for stability or security after installation. 2.4) The trees must have a minimum life span of 10 years, allowing for one full lighting change after the first 5 years of life. 2.5) Blanket/garlands must be green in colour and must also maintain colour be fully useable for the full life expectancy of the main structure, be UV stabilised to fully protect against all weathering and UV deterioration/degradation (colour-sun bleaching and brittle effects). 2.6) End of life, trees must be fully recyclable. 2.7) Main frame of the tree to be manufactured with aluminium coloured green, with same RAL colour as the garland/blanket. 2.8) Trees to have a minimum size of 12 m from ground to top of tree and a minimum base diameter of 4.9 m, maximum height of 15 m from ground to top of tree and maximum diameter of 6 m. 2.9) Trees to come complete with all required power supplies, cabling, cable jointers, etc. and have 24 volt RGB lighting and be able to be fixed on colour or white. With a minimum number of 11 000 lamps. 2.10) Suppliers will provide F.O.C. a number of spares to allow for a full section of the tree to be repaired. E.G. strings of lights, connectors looms, garlands/blankets, connection bolts, etc. (this list is not exhaustive but is dependent on the requirements and build of the proposed trees, due to the placement of these trees it would be suggested that the sections provided will be within the first two meters from the ground).
