Description

Reedbed Management Reedbeds are considered Priority Habitats. They are amongst the most important habitats for birds in the UK and support a distinctive breeding bird assemblage including many red listed species. Regular management of reedbeds is crucial to maintain optimum habitat to support birds and a variety of other species. This is increasingly important as species try to adapt to the effects of climate change. Angus Council are aiming to restore this priority habitat to its full potential at two locations in Montrose, Angus: the Curlie Pond and Millburn Reedbed at Montrose Basin Local Nature Reserve (LNR).
