Description
NHS Derby & Derbyshire Integrated Care Board have undertaken a Competitive Process under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) regulations and invited suitably qualified and experienced providers to deliver a Derby and Derbyshire Community Ophthalmology Triage and Treatment Service. NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands CSU (AGCSU) acted as an agent for and on behalf of the Commissioner and supported this Provider Selection Regime Competitive Process. The process was a One Stage process. Lot 1: NHS Derby & Derbyshire Integrated Care Board are seeking to commission the provision of a Community Ophthalmology Triage and Treatment services across the Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board (DDICB) footprint. <br/><br/>The 'Community Ophthalmology Triage and Treatment Service' will comprise of 2 elements covering the DDICB area:<br/><br/>• Community Triage & Treatment Service based in the north and south – for the north, based in one or more locations of which at least one is in the centre of Chesterfield and for the south, based in one or more locations of which at least one is in Derby City centre. This element of The Service includes: desktop triage (administrative and clinical triage), assessment and treatment according to pathways/guidance within The Service, or onward referral to Hospital Eye Services (HES)/other provider for patients' ongoing treatment needs.<br/><br/>• A virtual triage service for the High Peak and Glossop areas – no specific base is required as this is a virtual service. This element of the service includes: desktop (virtual administrative and clinical) triage and onward referral to commissioned community providers for assessment, and treatment or onward referral to HES/other provider for patients' ongoing treatment needs.<br/><br/>This notice is to communicate the intention to award a contract under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Competitive Process. This contract relates to a new service with the intention to award being made to a new provider. The contract will commence 2nd November 2026 for an initial term of 3 years and 5 months with the Commissioner having the option to extend the Contract for up to a further 1 year and 7 months.
