The slabbed path runs through the wooded area of the park and was installed a number of years ago, but its structure has been compromised by tree roots and water travel creating an unsafe surface in some areas. The path is approximately 380m in length (950m2). General The parish council intends to award the tender by the end of May 2021. Works must be completed by 16th July 2021, and within two weeks of the commencement date. It will be assumed that the contractor will have visited the site to assess the work required, access, location and carry out relevant services checks. Works shall not commence before 8am or continue beyond 6pm. Work shall not be permitted on a Sunday or Bank Holiday. The contractor shall supply all labour, materials, fuel, water, carriage, plant, tools and machinery in order to execute the works. Access to the site is via the park entrance on Clannell Road or Peregrine Place. Access routes shall be reinstated to their original condition at completion of the works. All debris produced during the course of these works (including green waste) shall be removed from site by waste carriers holding a current Waste Carriers Licence as appropriate. Waste should be recycled wherever possible. Although removal of tree roots where necessary is permitted, the contractor must not prune, cut, remove or damage trees or shrubs on the site. On completion of the works all surrounding and affected areas must be made good and proper, and the site must be left in a clean and tidy condition. It will be necessary to close the path to members of the public while works are being carried out. The contractor will be required to provide all safety measures and signage to inform members of the public and prevent accidents. The contractor will be required to comply with all obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act and provide upon request a copy of the Health and Safety Policy and risk assessments for all activities to be carried out during the course of the works.
