Description

Tenders are invited for the design and build of Innovation Centre 7 (IC7). The project will cover both the design and build of Innovation Centre 7 (IC7) under a single-stage design and build contract. The contract for the design and build of Innovation Centre 7 (IC7) covers a total area of 2 696 m2 of Innovation Centre 7 (IC7). The estimated total value of the contract excluding VAT is £9,875,000. The design and build of Innovation Centre 7 (IC7) is part funded through a suite of secured funding including Keele University, the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the England 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Growth Programme and UK Government funding through the Getting Building Fund. Lot 1: The development and implementation of digital technologies will be central to society and the economy for the foreseeable future. Beyond the technology lies data that will be collected on almost every aspect of our work and personal lives. This data needs to be handled securely and ethically then analysed in such a way that it provides accurate reflections to provide digital solutions. If done well, this promises to enhance the lives of our communities in a vast array of ways, including our health, wealth and happiness. Keele has expertise in key aspects of data analytics right across the University and we aim to harness these to develop and support small to medium sized enterprises. We intend to create a community of experts, researchers and businesses, centred physically and virtually around a new purpose-built facility within the Keele Science and Innovation Park. Innovation Centre 7 (IC7) within the Keele Growth Corridor University Enterprise Zone will provide a physical focus for the intersection and collaboration between existing and future groups and initiatives within the University as well as providing a touch point (and physical home for some) organisations and initiatives that interact with our data and analytics expertise. Together this community will develop and apply data to make a significant difference to society and the economy. Main reasons for decision not to subdivide contract into lots: given the need for one main contractor to co-ordinate the delivery of the design and build of Innovation Centre 7 (IC7) covering all of the design services and construction works required to deliver the project, the contract has not been subdivided into lots. Section 2 of the ITT (Employer's requirements - tender specification and contract) gives detailed information on all of the works and services required to facilitate and deliver the contract for the design and build of Innovation Centre 7 (IC7). The contractor will be required to carry out the works and services detailed in section 2 of the ITT. Where the University wishes to accept one of the tenders submitted as part of this procurement process, the terms and conditions which will apply to the arrangement between the University and the contractor is the JCT Design and Build Contract 2016 as amended by the University as detailed in the document folder '20.0 Contract Amendments' (see the procurement documents). Tenderers must accept the JCT Design and Build Contract 2016 as amended by the University as detailed in the document folder '20.0 Contract Amendments'. Failure to meet this requirement will render your tender submission non-compliant. Additional information: The procurement is related to a project and/or programme financed by European Union funds: YES Identification of the project: The design and build of Innovation Centre 7 (IC7) is part funded from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the England 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Growth Programme.
