Next Generation Munitions Solution (NGMS)

Description

Defence General Munitions Project Team (DGM PT), part of the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence ("the Authority") has placed the Next Generation Munitions Solution (NGMS) Contract with BAE Systems Global Combat Systems Munitions Limited ("the Supplier") for a range of general munitions. This requirement is currently delivered by the Supplier under the Munitions Acquisition Supply Solution (MASS) contract and represents those munitions within the Authority's general munitions portfolio which are manufactured by the Supplier in the UK. (Ammunition for firearms and warfare. Supply and in-service support of a range of general munitions (SAA, medium calibre, mortars, artillery and tank ammunition)). NGMS includes the provision for capability for development and upgrade of these products and through life support, including safety management, with the capacity to reduce or increase the scope of munitions where compatible with the regulatory regime in force at the time. MASS is due to expire on 31 December 2027, following a five-year run-down period, and it is intended for MASS to be terminated and for delivery to commence under NGMS from 1 January 2023 until 31 December 2037, with an option for a further 5 year extension.
