Description

An area on the upper deck of the existing East Pier in Howth Fishery Harbour Centre is to be re-surfaced for enhanced safety, accessibility and durability for all users. The existing life expired mixed concrete and stone agglomerate hard surface and rubble substrate is to be removed, service ducting and pipework installed and backfilled, and a new brushed concrete surface and pair of stone tactile bands and architectural concrete infill are to be installed per attached drawings and specifications. Sections of existing historic rubble stone cobbles are to be lifted and relayed. All finishes to be laid to falls and finished to the satisfaction of DAFM per drawings and spec. The tender is being issued in a single lot, with works funded and going ahead in 2026. It is proposed that a contractor tender for and undertake these remedial works, and they must be available to commence the works in no later than week commencing 10th August 2026 and be substantially complete by December 2026. These works are required to tie in with previous portions of the project - Lot 1 and 2 completed in 2025. Layout and finish of the proposed works must match these existing works.
