Description
The Contract is for the provision of Demolition of Stormont House Annex and associated bungalow. Retention, alterations and refurbishment to existing link entrance lobby and lower ground plantroom. The Contract is for the provision to carry out the Works as detailed on the Contract Drawings and Specifications in accordance with ITT Works and Site Information and any related “Z” clauses introduced as Additional Conditions of Contract. The Works comprises of asbestos removal and the demolition and clearance of a two-storey annex (comprised of a single-storey upper (1,050m2) and lower ground level (725m2)), adjacent single-story bungalow (165m2) and identified retaining structures in accordance with BS6187:2000. Retention of lower ground boiler house, switch room and comms room (approximately 100m2 in area) as identified in the drawings inclusive of recladding, reroofing and door replacement to provide a weathertight enclosure. All existing roadways, pavements, soft and hard landscaped areas impacted and including the resultant exposed footprints shall be made good to match existing surface finishes following the completion of the demolition works, unless otherwise specified in accordance with the works information. The scheme is projected to commence on site at the end of November 2025, the demolition and retention/remediation works are programmed to run for approximately 20 weeks with handover/completion scheduled for Mid-June 2026. The proposed works shall include, but not limited to the following:- - Disconnection and isolation of any remaining live services existing at the time of the demolition works. - Safe removal and safe disposal of all asbestos items identified prior to commencement or identified during the course of the work within the buildings to be demolished. All in accordance with current statutory requirements / guidance and best practice. - The complete demolition and removal from site of the identified areas of the Stormont House Annex and Bungalow. - Make allowances to provide temporary protection and covering to Grade B1 listed Stormont House, all retained plant areas and link corridor to protect all fabric including mechanical and electrical equipment during the duration of the works. - Careful and controlled demolition of the lower floors (retained plant room) of the Annex adjacent and connected to the existing link entrance/Foyer area. - Careful and controlled breakout of ground floor and basement floor slabs so as to limit the impact of the works on adjacent surfaces. - All surrounding will remain live / operational during the works and contractor is take cognisant of all existing fire escape exits / access points to adjacent operational buildings and live services. - All cavities and changes in ground levels are to be safely fill in and made good. - Any redundant drainage etc to be secured and capped off. - The contractor shall be responsible for liaising with all Statutory Authorities/ Utility Providers (if required) and programming the same to comply with the completion date. - All works will be in strict accordance with the current Health and Safety Regulations - The contractor provides the Works in accordance with the general constraints listed in the Contract Data and in accordance with Contractor’s Assessment in any relevant quotations. - All Works are to be co-ordinated and agreed with the Employer, Project Supervisor and Principle Designer / CDM regulations. See Pre Construction Health and Safety Plan and Safety Information Pack prior to the commencement of the Works - The Works must be programmed in agreement with the Employer. PLEASE NOTE CPD’s Construction Information Management System (CIMS) is a cloud-based collaboration platform which may be used by Clients, CPD Construction Professionals, and Suppliers in the delivery of government infrastructure projects. Information relating to the project is uploaded and stored within the platform and shared between project users who have been assigned roles reflecting their role in the project’s delivery. As information is shared, reviewed, and approved via the platform, an audit trail is built up to provide a single source of truth for decision making throughout the project lifecycle. All information relating to this procurement has been developed and stored within CIMS. All participation stage documents for this procurement are available for Suppliers to view and download from a Data Room, a publicly accessible folder in CIMS, which may be accessed from a link within INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE PART A: GENERIC INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE.
