The section for component production at the Immunology and Transfusion Medicine Department would like to procure a haematology instrument. This section carries out quality checks on haematological parameters in blood products and blood donors at the Blood Bank in Oslo. This is done 6 days a week. Approx. 13 000 samples are analysed (full blood with EDTA, SAG-M erythrocytes, plasma and thrombocyte concentrate) per annum. The procurement also includes signing a framework agreement for the purchase of the equipment specified consumables. This framework agreement is ongoing and applies as long as at least one instrument is in use. The framework agreements include the options described in Appendix 4.1. The award of contract for consumables will follow the award of contract for the purchase of the system. Approx. 13 000 samples are analysed (full blood with EDTA, SAG-M erythrocytes, plasma and thrombocyte concentrate) per annum. The instrument must have an option for closed STAT running, i.e., that sample tubes can be run with a cork and without the operator having to hold the tube during the process. The procurement also includes a framework agreement with contract number xxxxxxx for the procurement of equipment-specific consumables. This framework agreement is ongoing and applies as long as at least one instrument is in use. The framework agreements include the options described in Appendix 4.1. The award of contract for consumables will follow the award of contract for the purchase of the system. The instrument must have an option for running a carousel of several dozen samples in a series, with all the samples showing results that deviate from normal values. In practice, this will, for example, mean that we can run up to 30 thrombocyte concentrates in an automatic series where all show zero values on some parameters. An option for automatic thinning by STAT running must be available. There must be an option for automatic thinning and re-runs of samples that show results outside the permitted pre-defined limits during the automatic run. Tenderers must prove that an equivalent instrument has been in use at a blood bank in Norway or Europe and has been in use for both running EDTA full blood in the normal area and for quality checks of blood components in the high measurement area.
