Holly clearance Garth Isaf (Mawddach)

Description

Holly cutting and stacking from within a 23.5 hectare privately owned woodland near Dolgellau (Grid ref SH656163). This site is mainly broadleaf woodland, and requires holly clearance work throughout in order to maintain an open structure beneficial to wildlife. Following these works we plan to introduce cattle to deal with holly regrowth. Holly stands are thick in places, and the resultant brash needs to be stacked or chipped and left in such a way that it does not form a barrier that prevents cattle accessing the coppice regrowth. As this type of work is difficult to quote for we are asking contractors to quote for 15 person days of holly cutting and stacking, ie one week of 3 operatives.
