Description

The primary objective of the Contract is filters to operate in our smoke extraction system, which is part of our Fire Behaviour Training Units. We have recently invested in some new live fire training facilities. These facilities allow our firefighters to learn about fire behaviour and practice the techniques required to control certain fire conditions. The new training facilities burn OSB Sheet Timber to create realistic live fire conditions. The training facility is made from 40ft shipping containers with vents and smoke capture hoods that are connected to ducting. The smoke is extracted by a fan and passes through a much smaller shipping container that contains a filter system. After this the remaining smoke and particles vent into the atmosphere via a flue 9M above ground. Currently a full set of filters will last two training sessions before they need to be changed.
