Loch Lomond & The Trossachs Landscape Connections - Restoring our Woodland Mosaic - identifying opportunities in the Woodland Mosaic Restoration Zone Lot 1: We are looking for the services of an experienced and qualified ecological consultant who will deliver the following objectives: Through a review of available literature and data, produce a longlist of threatened, rare, and absent native species that would form part of a resilient woodland mosaic in this location. The longlist should focus on trees and plants, invertebrates, and mammals. Produce a shortlist of species (parameters for short listing to be agreed with project team and with guidance from appointed consultant). Provide species accounts for each shortlisted species including (but not limited to) detail on conservation status locally and nationally, reason for scarcity, absence or historic extinction, ecological significance, and recommendation for action (e.g., reintroduction, reinforcement, or other action). Where translocation is identified as appropriate, provide detail on feasibility of translocation and potential timescales, land management implications, potential economic and community benefit, and recommendations for next steps. Where possible, high level financial costings associated with translocation (where data or examples are readily available) would be beneficial.
