Summary of the work Specialist Business Analyst within ServiceNow , able to work closely with DWP stakeholders to capture day to day requirements via User Stories, , defining clear, testable acceptance criteria, encourage exploitation of tooling and reducing configuration and customisation. They must uphold the values of the DWP. Specialist role Business analyst Expected Contract Length 24 months with an optional extension period of 6 months Latest start date Monday 3 April 2023 Maximum Day Rate £550 per day (ex VAT). This role is Inside IR35 Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will work with the existing DWP Augmented Teams, this will consist of DWP Digital staff and other 3rd party suppliers engaged in Service Now development work What Specialists Work On The role of a ServiceNow Business Analyst is to interpret the needs of specific business areas, translate the needs into Service Now User Stories enable the design and development of the Service Now flows and solutions to meet requirements whilst ensuring the use of out of the box functionality is utilised, according to departmental policy. Work alongside users and and agile team to improve the capability, usability and stability of the ServiceNow platform. Engage in DWP Place Agile ceremonies, Stakeholder engagement, reporting, dependency management. Knowledge of Service now or knowledge of delivering Employee experience improvements desirable but not essential Skills & Experience • Business Analysis, Able to translate business needs into User Stories • Agile skills, able to contribute to agile delivery, incremental delivery, estimating story pointing. • Able to articulate and identify Risks Issues and Dependencies. • Stakeholder Management, Communication, presentation and faciliation, able to run key Agile Ceremonies such as stand-up retrospectives • Able to lead other business analysts and mentor others, develop Business Analysis best practice, own stakeholder relationships and contribute to communities-of-practice activities (internally and across government • Experience of using ServiceNow/previous ServiceNow projects and an understanding of what is possible within the platform • Experience of using ServiceNow to document requirements in stories and progress these through the SDLC • Strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to deal with stakeholders and multiple levels of the organisation • Strong analytical skills with a structured approach to documentation and procedures • Experience of documenting and defining business processes and obtaining stakeholder sign off • Ability to analyse complex/large amounts of data, produce meaningful insight and present this in visual and easy to understand presentations/reports • Ability to translate business requirements into process and technical requirements • Experience of working in an Agile methodology and applying Agile practices where applicable Nice to Haves Experience with Joiner, Mover and Leaver (JML) processes and supporting technology Work Location Primarily at the DWP Digital Corporate Peel Park Blackpool - although there may be a requirement to work from other DWP locations in the North West. Working Arrangments Specialist will work 5 working days per week. The specialist will be expected to attend site 40% of their working time in line with DWP's Hybrid working policy working remotely for the remainder of their time. Days of attendance on site will be as determined by DWP management.
