A55 Tunnels Junction 17 Eastbound VMS

Description

The project involved the construction of a 5m square reinforced concrete slab foundation on the north side of the A55, approximately 500m west of Junction 17, to support the installation of a frame mounted VMS sign, and connecting it to the existing power and communication networks. The works comprised, but were not limited to: - •Stripping existing vegetation and topsoil; •Backfilling existing adjacent excavation to existing base; •Placing and compacting imported hardcore; •Constructing new reinforced concrete slab foundation; •Supply and installation of new power and communication feeder boxes and UPS; •Laying new electric and instrument cables and connecting into existing junction boxes; •Constructed 75m long access gravel path from new base to existing hatched off layby.
