DTU har behov for monitorer til at måle og karakterisere neutronstrålen på et særligt neutroninstrument. Disse data skal integreres i datasystemet hos European Spallation Source (ESS), og derfor har ESS nogle krav til den elektronik som leveres og det er DTU's vurdering at dette kun kan leveres af CDT CASCADE Detector Technologies GmbH. Leverancen består af to ioniseringsmonitorer, inklusive elektronik, kaldet I-BM og en normaliseringsmonitor. Kun dette firme la ver en monitor med to folier, og kun dette firma leverer elektronik, der er fuldt integreret med ESS
