The Cemeteries Office is required under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 to provide a dignified and respectful funeral for a person who has passed away where no one is able or willing to make the funeral arrangements. <br />Currently Ipswich Borough Council has been arranging on average between 20 and 30 public health funeral a year since 2016. We have seen an increase of referrals over the last few years. <br />
