Description
The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF)-funded Business Support Programme ‘Surviving to Thriving’ (StT) was developed by MGS, Built Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS) and greenspace Scotland in late 2020. This comprehensive resilience and leadership training programme was launched in April 2021 and has supported heritage organisations across Scotland to develop sustainable business models. Additional funding has now been awarded in order to extend the programme by another year. MGS seeks to appoint a contractor to deliver a training programme for approximately 20 heritage organisations (approx. 40 individuals) across Scotland. Target participants will be trustees, senior managers, and future leaders in the heritage sector. The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF)-funded Business Support Programme ‘Surviving to Thriving’ (StT) was developed by Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS), Built Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS) and greenspace Scotland in late 2020. The additional programme will commence in March 2023 and run for nine months, with the expectation that participating organisations will attend 14 - 18 days of training within that period. Eligible organisations will be awarded a community grant to enable them to fully participate in the programme. Delivery of the training programme will be fully remote, using online learning tools and facilitation software. It is expected that all participating organisations will undertake training in each of the four core strands set out in the invitation to tender (leadership, governance, business planning and community engagement). The successful contractor will work with MGS to develop and deliver a bespoke training programme that will cover four core areas, as well as facilitating “check-in” days to review progress and any practical implementation of learning outcomes. The contractor will also be expected to facilitate and participate in focus groups, planned for late October 2022, which will identify specific needs and current skills gaps. They will also contribute to the marketing design and promotion of the programme extension to the sector during the application process (November - December 2022), including participating in surgeries to answer questions from potential participants on programme content, delivery, and eligibility. The contractor will be obliged to participate in a programme evaluation on completion of the training. In order to ensure consistency across the programme, training providers are asked to tender for the training programme as a whole; this contract is not split into lots. MGS particularly welcomes innovative approaches which include value for money and the use of digital technology to enhance the participant experience. MGS welcomes submissions from individuals and organisations with an understanding of the Scottish third and heritage sectors, as well as knowledge and understanding of diversity issues. Tenderers should demonstrate experience and knowledge of delivering training in the four core areas outlined in the invitation to tender.
