Ballast Water Managament System

Description

The Supply and Installation of a Ballast Water Management System. As Ireland is a member of the International Maritime Organisation it must meet with the legislation enacted. The International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships Ballast Water & Sediments requires the vessel to meet with the D-2 Standard – Ballast Water Performance standards. These standards are specified in the Convention. A Ballast Water Management System (hereon known as BWMS) must be installed that is in accordance with the IMO Guidelines. A Type Approval Certificate must be provided for the system. All stages of the project must meet with IMO Resolution MEPC.279 (70) criteria as well those specified in the document “Approval of Installation of Ballast Water Treatment Systems on LR Classed Ships”.
