Provision of U-Flyte Drone Flight-Testing Operations Support

National University of Ireland, Maynooth wishes to source and appoint a suitably qualified, licensed and experienced Drone Operators Service company to support all of U-Flyte research and development requirements to provide flight-testing operations support for all aspects of U-Flyte R&D work-programme. The purpose of this tender is to provide flight-testing operations support for the U-Flyte research and development work programme, centring on advanced drone operations and applications. In brief, the work programme will involve demonstrating non-standard and advanced drone flight, including flying BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight), carrying of sensors such as LiDAR, carrying other large payloads, testing novel communications and field testing innovative drone applications. The U-Flyte project is a scientific research project, partly funded by SFI and partly by industrial partners. The aim is to carry out research on innovative solutions for drone operations and applications, including modelling and management of airspace (U-space/UTM) and flight control, and investigating and demonstrating use of drones in the areas of, for example, marine search and rescue, infrastructure and agricultural monitoring and delivery applications on the island of Ireland.
