Haulage of Waste

Description

Braintree District Council is awarding a contract for timely and correct delivery of various waste streams to the correct predesignated reprocessing facilities. There is a potential that such facilities change throughout the lifetime of this contract. The waste streams currently in scope of this contract are, dry mixed recycling, paper and card, garden waste, Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP's), general waste (including litter picking, fly tip litter, dog waste, wood for recycling and general waste skip and wood waste). The sale of the materials is out of scope of this contract. This tender was issued in two Lots with the intention of awarding either Lots 1 & 2 or Lot 3. Based on the process described in the Bidders Guidance provided at tender stage, Lots 1 & 2 are awarded and Lot 3 not awarded. Changes brought around by the Simpler Recycling reforms will change the composition of the dry mixed recycling waste stream from 1 June 2026, involving glass, tetrapak, paper and card and therefore will affect tonnages and number of loads.
