DCC Prior Information Notice and Request For Information for the Delivery and Implementation of a Shared Staff Mobility Scheme

Published

Description

Dublin City Council, in partnership with Enterprise Ireland’s Small Business Innovation Research programme supported a pilot for a shared staff mobility scheme operating across multiple office branches within the Council. Pilot locations in Fingal County Council and South Dublin County Council were also established. The ‘Smart Mobility Hub’ offers e-cars, e-bikes and manual bicycles for staff to access during work hours, which are free to use and easily bookable via a mobile application. A shared staff mobility programme that operates at scale offers benefits to the individual, business and wider urban environment including:  Provides staff with alternative modes of transport for business travel that supports active travel options.  Reduction in carbon emissions for companies related to business travel usage.  Optimisation of staff car parking facilities.  Reduced reliance on private cars, and the associated reductions in congestion, noise and pollution. The purpose of market consultation is to:  Understand the existing experience, competency and services available on the market in relation to shared mobility schemes and the various technical and commercial options available.  Notify interested suppliers that a tender notice for the services may be published after the market consultation is complete and reviewed by Dublin City Council.  Ensure that Dublin City Council and partners have the knowledge and resources required to implement any future solution in relation to staff shared mobility. The expected outcomes of the market consultation are:  Greater insight into technical and service readiness levels and suitability of solutions on the market.  Agreement with key stakeholders and decision makers to determine what if any action will be needed to adopt such solutions.  Identify global direction, developments and trends in shared mobility solutions. Better understanding of future opportunities available to Dublin City Council.
