APX016 - Personal Safety Awareness Training

Description

Apex has a requirement for an external training provider to provide a training programme for personal safety awareness to our staff who have been identified as lone workers. The personal safety awareness provider should refer to Apex’s organisational policies (Appendix 1) Apex will provide the appointed provider all relevant information during contract mobilisation. The training should include but not be limited to • Definition of Lone Working and Personal Safety; • Employer and Employee Responsibilities; • Work-related Violence and Aggression; • Communication, verbal and non-verbal; • Undertaking a Dynamic Risk Assessment; • Control Measures – including best practice for home visits, use of lone working devices, use of distance etc; • Emotions and Reactions, Fight or flight; • Understanding causes of aggression, recognising early warning signs and how to deal with anger / aggression, including when to walk away / leave the situation; • Conflict Resolution Management - de-escalation / diffusion of situations, including physical disengagement (basic breakaway) techniques, what to do if attacked, self-defence and the legal context; • How to deal with emergency situations etc. • Suitable training for staff in General Needs Social Housing and Health and Social Care settings Contract duration 2 years with two optional 12 month extensions (2+1+1). This is a below threshold contract. Estimated annual value of £20k.
