Description
Biotech Research & Innovation Centre (BRIC) was established in 2003 by the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation to form an elite centre in biomedical research. Our aims are to • perform interdisciplinary, cutting-edge research • establish a strong research education programme • attract funding and new research projects • ensure that research results are used for the development of commercial products • promote exchange of ideas within the Danish biotech research community Lot 1: We are planning to buy a BD FACSymphony S6 (30 parameter 6B/3R/8V/4YG/7UV) sorter as replacement of a 11 year old BD ARIA-III sorter owned by the department and used to service more than 100 independent users. The key - and therefore unique - factor is the patented cascadecagon Longpass/Bandpass filter setup of the S6 were the instrument stays flexible due to the ability to manually change, in user applicable fashion, the light cutting elements. This will enable the department to continue to operate classical Flow Cytometry as required for a larger set of protocols coming from the, to be replaced, ARIA-III setup, while retaining the ability to advance the technology with the maturation of spectral capabilities in parallel. As a process of recycle the Old ARIA-III will be taken back by BD and the value will be deducted in our new purchase. We have a BD Fortessa X20 Analyser, anyone who design an experiment with X20 can plan a cell sorting (using S6) without spending much time.
