Summary of the work Delivery Manager for Progress delivery of DWP Transformation and change of New Style Jobseekers and Employment Support Allowance benefits service for citizens and Agents across Jobcentre network building on Digital Services already in this area and how we can more seamlessly deliver this alongside and integrated with Universal Credit. Specialist role Delivery manager Expected Contract Length 24 months Latest start date Friday 31 March 2023 Maximum Day Rate £950 including VAT Who Speclialist Work With You will be working as part of an established multidisciplinary and blended delivery team, comprising other suppliers, contingency labour personnel and DWP personnel fulfilling roles in product and service design and analysis, engineering, research, and testing. What Specialists Work On Working Age Transformation and Change has been established to improve the experience of Working Age citizens and DWP colleagues and to reduce related costs, it focuses: 1. To understand how New Style benefits should be provisioned in future a technical, business, and operational level. 2. To deliver efficiencies against existing New Style services. Existing challenges across New Style benefits include: • improve focus on citizen-centric outcomes • facilitating improved orientation between working age benefits • removal of complex, fragmented, and manual processes • error reduction, improved turnaround time and compliance DM will lead a team tasked to address these challenges. Skills & Experience • You'll be a true leader who serves, steering from the front. • You'll remove blockers and create the right environment for your multidisciplinary teams to succeed, helping them to self-sufficiency and creating a culture of learning and transparency. • We’re looking for someone who can do the hands-on delivery of products and end to end services. You will see them through from initiation to live. • You will use your agile expertise to build a culture of continuous improvement with high performing teams. • You will promote user-centred design, applying it to the software development lifecycle. • It’s a complex landscape and you’ll need your skills as a persuasive and engaging communicator. You’ll solve cross-cutting problems and use your experience of delivery to get the job done. • Day-to-day you will be working with experts in engineering, business process design, user research, user experience design and policy development. • Experience of delivering software at pace in an agile environment and at multiple phases. • Experience of owning and building relationships within the team to ensure each player is aligned to and understands the same delivery objectives. • Communicates in a straightforward, honest and engaging manner tailoring messages to ensure that it is right for the audience Nice to Haves • Promoting a healthy team culture, managing team dynamics and fostering a continuous improvement environment that deals with conflict and helps establish a team culture that allows for constructive criticism. • Worked experience of how the frameworks and practices they have employed within teams reflected Agile Manifesto values and principles and delivered valued outcomes. Work Location Leeds, Quarry House, LS2 7UA Working Arrangments This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is where an individual works part of the week in the DWP office or individuals workplace location and part of the week from home. Hybrid working is a voluntary arrangement and the DWP office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but is typically in region of 40% of your time onsite and 60% at home.
