Description

Ocean Space Centre (OSC) shall be located at Tyholt in Trondheim, Norway. The Centre shall contain research and higher education institutions operating under one roof, seamlessly integrating basic and applied research areas in marine engineering and life sciences. Once completed, OSC shall consist of a unique selection of laboratories with simple and robust student laboratories, highly advanced laboratories for basic research, some of the world's largest hydrodynamic laboratories for large-scale and industrial research, and full-scale field laboratories in the fjord and marine areas outside Trondheim. All this combined with advanced computational and numerical facilities. The new laboratories shall replace the existing facilities currently located at Tyholt in Trondheim. Lot 1: The ocean basin (OB) (60 x 50 m) will be equipped with a roof-mounted carriage system and a work platform. K665-05 Roof-mounted carriages OB includes: - OB Roof-mounted carriage system: A carriage system with a frame that travels along the same rails as the roof-mounted cranes with a suspended carriage underneath that can cover the entire OB area. The roof-mounted carriage system will be used to test models. It will contain measuring and monitoring equipment and be designed for advanced remote/unmanned operation of test objects. - OB work platform: An independent work platform with an integrated 3-tonne crane and a walkway for access to and preparation of test models. The work platform is suspended from a frame in the same way as the undercarriage for the roof-mounted carriage.
